Roccat has devlievered a luxery mousemat at an affordable price!

Roccat are a European based gaming company which provide lush and stylish gaming peripherals.  Ranging from mouse mats, mice and of course keyboards.  We first met Roccat at Ceebit 2008 with their impressive stand.  But today we have something special.  Roccat have been kind enough to send us a review sample of their Roccat Sense mouse mat which we previewed at Ceebit.  So now we have actually had the time to give this bad boy a test to see how well it fares in the massive market of today’s gaming mouse mats.

Sense comes packaged in a tall tube like container which reminds me of a tennis ball container.  It’s got an expensive feel to it all.  The SENSE mouse mat is approximately 400 x 280mm which is quite large compared to some other standard mats.  So those of you with small desks may find it a bit of a job fitting it in.  On one side you have an impressive design, you can have one of two designs.  On the reverse side of the mouse mat is layered rubber which completely halts any movement on the desk.  It’s quite clever because no one likes a mouse mat that slides around on your desk!

I tested the mouse matt with the Razer Copperhead, and carefully experimented with each DPI setting.  The mouse mat is most comfortable to use and due to no plastic, it’s quite relaxing just resting your hand on the mat.  The mouse reacted very well to the matt, you almost immediately notice the difference especially when switching between varies mouse mats.  Due to its size it’s very free roaming, so you have quite a large area to play with so your mouse never slips off the edge.

Like it says on the box it definitely has reduced friction which makes playing fast paced FPS games a breeze.  But what I really liked about this mat is not what it could provide me in gaming.  But how it helped me when doing day to day jobs for example editing and working in Photoshop.  It felt smooth, was nice to work with and plus is quite the looker arranged with everything else on the desk.  Not many mouse mats these days care about looks but Roccat have sure given the public something which most importantly WORKS but also looks quite nice!

You can pick up this brilliant mouse mat for an average of £15 which is a great deal especially compared to some of today’s mouse mats.  Hopefully in the future we will be showing you some of their other products to show you what Roccat really can do, and soon how their name will be well known amongst the UK and European market.

Final Score

Roccat Sense
